An Invitation Letter is a document through which a resident in Portugal declares responsibility for a foreign national. This responsibility includes:
Accommodation during the stay in Portuguese territory;
Responsibility for any potential expenses;
Compliance with the legislation in force in Portugal.
New AIMA Requirements
Since November 4, 2024, it has become mandatory to have the signature on the Invitation Letter officially recognized by a Notary, Lawyer, or Solicitor, unless the document is signed before a representative of AIMA.
Stay attentive to the new requirements and ensure that your Invitation Letter complies with current legislation.
